Wedding Preparation - Part I

How my wedding preparation goes?

WEDDING DATE

Wedding Date is the first thing you should know. Originally, 2018 was the year we planned to get married. But due to some circumstances, we decided to get married as soon as possible, like this year (2017)? lol. This is too pressuring for us and of course, we need to make more money. March 2016 when we got engaged and planned for our wedding, but then in May 2016 we were advised to do it asap. On that month of May, we also traveled to Hong Kong and Macau, after that we decided on the wedding date. Hmmm.. This took time and many dates have been placed, we asked our parents and my grandmother as well to give us advice on what are the lucky dates because they believe in feng shui. Although I and Emman don’t know any of it. They said, having an infinity number will be a lucky one, so my father wants December 18, 2016, as long as it has “8″ lol. But we want February 18, 2017, of course, our decision is more important. So here it is.. (wedding bells ringing)

WEDDING DESTINATION

From the start I knew already that we are not able to have Church Wedding, it is because I and Emman have a different religion, I am a Catholic and he is a Baptist. Emman always asks me where will be our wedding, I always say that “I want a beach wedding”. The options that came out were Batangas, Palawan, and Subic and Yes, he also added Bulacan (yeah but I really don’t want Bulacan even though I grew up there but hell NO). We have checked resorts in Batangas and Subic, too pricey and too far away for my guests to attend. In Bulacan, I really don’t have the idea of why my wedding should be held there. Hmm. No reasons at all, I don’t have any relatives lived there anymore. Then we chose Palawan, Yey! I insisted that I want my family to experience the beauty of the place. And also, one of my goals is to bring my family to Palawan. (Buckelist checked!) Our wedding place options below:

Dos Palmas Resort and Spa - our first option, we inquired and tried to budget our money but it’s too pricey. I felt so sad because we can’t afford it. The place is too magical and beautiful, it has pure white sand and has a perfect view that I know will fit my dream wedding. But reality sucks, we can’t afford this amazing place.

Two Seasons Coron - also inquired and got the tally of the wedding package they have. The package is good but the case is, the wedding is going to be so intimate, like for only immediate family members can only attend. Guests have not included yet and rooms. So it means, too much money will also be needed if this will be our wedding place.

Tonying’s Place - checked and researched the place but the space for my beach wedding is not that suitable for many guests. But still recommended for an intimate/simple wedding.

Oasis Villa Resort - a beautiful resort, many weddings already held here. We researched the resort via web, the owner is very accommodating and kind. The price is good, the ambiance is superb, the view is stunning and they have infinity pool, and the place is so quiet and perfect to have a solemn wedding. And by the way, this is a one hour drive from Puerto Princesa city.

WEDDING GOWN

And YES, I had a hard time looking for my wedding dress. Since our engagement, I always look over the internet on what style and design I will wear on my wedding day. I visited many sites, a lot of pages, and I even look at a magazine about wedding gown ideas. I followed online accounts mostly in Instagram, I signed up in Pinterest and watched weddings on YouTube. Wedding gown designers are hard to find especially if you are looking for a low-budget price. (Yeah, I really don’t want to have a pricey wedding gown, I just want is simple yet beautiful one) We’ve been to many places to look for a boutique/designer. But then, Trinoma is the place where we found it! Bridesdream is the name of the wedding designer/boutique that has a small branch there. They also offer a wedding package that includes the entourage that perfectly suits our budget, yehey! What a relief!
